Steps to MFT License in Indiana
1) Complete a graduate course of study in Marriage and Family Therapy that includes a practicum of 500 hours of MFT services, at least 400 of which are direct, face-to-face client contact and 200 of which are relational, plus 100 hours of supervision.
2) Apply for a temporary license to allow you to work for up to a year while working towards taking and passing the AMFTRB exam to earn your LMFTA.
3) Complete 1000 hours of direct client contact, at least half of which must be relational, plus 200 hours of supervision, 100 hours of which must be individual, and then apply for your LMFT.
